Being Classmates with My Son

Having someone you know in the class, it helps you, learn better, because the two of you can discuss together, and help each other understand the course materials you couldn’t quite understand yet, translated…

My son worked for a couple of years as a security guard, one day he’d suddenly told me, “Mom, I’m going to quit my job, and take the national exams!”

As I’d heard, I was, more than, ecstatic! I thought of the news reports of how the security guards got beaten to death, and how his coworkers had recently been injured on the job, had several stitches, I’d, given him my blessing, in my words, as through my actions, I’d, signed him up for the prep courses.

My plans of life was to take twenty basic law courses first, and my son’s test was also, related to, law enforcement, and, we’d, both signed up for the penal law course, and, became classmates in the credited courses.

There was, another father-and-son pair in the penal law course, the two of them always sat on the first row, they’d taken the class very seriously. Although the father was older, he was, the student who’d, asked the most number of questions each class period. And, although I’d, audited a whole year’s worth of law courses, and earned nearly ten hours of credits, and listened closely in class, but, I have limited memory capacity, and can only, record the class sessions to get the key points, thinking I’ll, listen to the recordings often, to make up for the lacking of my memories. My son is shy in nature, had set at the last row in class, and, although, he’d not missed a single class, he’d not had any prior knowledge of the law, and, it’s hard for me to know, how much of the lectures he’d actually, understood.

Before this class was over, the former manager of his work called him up, wanting him to return back to the job. Because there’s a lack of workers, he’d promised, that my son could, set up his work schedule according to his classes, that maybe, he could, study the course material during his breaks from work. Although, I’d, told him he should, just, study hard, and prepare for the exams, but he’d, decided, to return back to work.

When he’d gone to his new workplace, turned out, his new manager was, also, a veteran in taking the national exams, and learned of his situation, he’d, started zooming in on my son, to make sure he was, hitting the books. As he’d stopped going to work, stayed at home to prepare for the exams, he’d often, gotten sidetracked, and, as he’d returned back to the workforce, his manager is, making sure he was, studying like he’s supposed to, he’d, made more progresses in his studies, compared to when he was at home doing it on his own.

Being classmates with my sons had many perks, once I couldn’t make it to class, and I’d asked him to record the lectures, and we can, discuss with one another on the cases, or things we can’t, quite understand. The finals of that penal code class, surely enough, the father-son pair made the highest grades, that father scored a 95, it’s truly, impressive. My son and I, scored, toward the bottom, but the professor was kind enough, gave me a final grade of eighty-one, but I know we didn’t work, hard enough, every day, we’d still, snuck in those Japanese soaps and comic books, we should, take from the father-son pair in our class, follow their, leads in studying hard.

As I’d, introspected over how I’d not worked, hard enough in class, I’d wanted to, tell my son, who’s, focused on his career, who’d, put in more energy, “Classmate, keep working at it!”

And so, this is the perks of having someone there with you in class, the two of you can discuss things you don’t quite understand together, help one another learn better, that’s what happened, to the father-and-son pair in the class, and the writer used them as a role model.

Disregarding the Costs, the Mobile Supermarkets Entered into the Distant Regions, “We Can’t Care about the Costs”

A social welfare program, that didn’t, CARE about the cost, but only, helping the locals, we need more of these in the world right now that’s for sure! From the Newspapers, translated…

The mountain regions in Yilan is off-the-maps, the locals can’t shop easily, the Helping with Love Supermarket’s C.E.O., Chu made a wish of “delivering the groceries to the distant regions”, push for the mobile supermarket programs, used two million dollars to alter the 3.5-ton truck into a mobile marketplace, yesterday, the truck was official, it’d, delivered the meats, the vegetables, the fruits, the instant noodles, the soy sauces, the daily needs, along with, over a thousand groceries, up to the mountains, to sell.

photo from UDN.com宜蘭山區部落購物不便,喜互惠推出「行動超市」,昨天正式營運。 記者羅建旺/攝影the grovery store on wheels…

The mobile supermarket at the start of the year, started the trials of using a 1.5 ton truck, it’d gone to the regions of Nanshan, in Datong, the Four Seasons, the Ylang, the Song-Luo, Le-Shui, Ying-Shih, along with Nan-Ao, the native tribal areas first, and, also, to the communities far off in the northern Yilan, Gueishan, Daxi, and other local communities, so these distant towns can also, get their needed groceries.

“We don’t care about the costs!” the mobile supermarket is out on the road a lot, of it, it takes two hours per way, to the 1,200 meter high Datong’s Nanshan Tribes, a total of four hours, over a hundred meters, Chu said, the items in the mobile supermarket is exactly the same as what we sell in the cities, in prices too.

The mobile supermarkets’ “shelves” don’t have the randomized groceries, it’d been, surveyed by the statistics, to see which items are mostly needed by the locals, and, everything the locals need, they can, preorder it from online, the meats, the vegetables, and, then, after the orders were, placed, the mobile supermarket drives up the mountains, there’s no extra, delivery charges.

Chu said, other than deliveries made to the distant regions, if there are larger scale functions, or nursing homes that needed, the mobile supermarkets will deliver, “when we are, service-oriented, we stopped considering the costs!”, Chu said, that the mobile supermarkets bring in a set income, and, considering the costs of gas, of the wear and tear of the vehicles, the drivers, and the costs for hiring the cashiers, they’d have a negative earning, but, because of the needs of the distant regions, it needs, to be done.

And so, this, is something wonderful this man started, he saw a need, and, provided the services, and, we need more of these, understanding minds, more of these, helping states of minds, to make this world a better place, and this man is, already, doing more than his share, to make a difference, in the lives, of others, not caring about the costs.

A Different Life

With the assistance given to these families by the foundation, these families can finally, have some sense of, normalcy in their, functioning, translated…

In the meetings that day, the senior early childhood intervention educator, Mrs. Shih told everybody, there was a student’s mother whom she’d lost contact with that’s gotten reconnected with her on FB, told her that her twins who were, helped by the center from before, who’d, received the early intervention helps are, in the universities now.

Mrs. Shih said, as the mother told her how her children were doing, it’d, deeply impacted her, because as the twins were sent to the early intervention center, they had troubles, feeding themselves, and yet, Mrs. Shih wasn’t as experienced as she is now, she’d, become, too nervous when looking after the twins, worried, that she may, injure the twin if she weren’t, careful enough; but, over a decade later, the twins had the abilities to take the entrance exams for college, and, they’d, both gotten into the public universities too.

I’d once heard other coworkers, sharing the tales of success.  The person in the story was, Shen, he’d lost his parents, and lacked that secure attachment, he’d, needed to hug everybody he saw, and in the end, he was called, the “sexual predator”; but, as he’d been sent to the foundation for placement, he’d, learned to express his insecurity in an alternative method, and because of the company he had from his teachers, his peers, he’d, changed his manners from being timid as he’d come to the center, to now, being able to, laugh out loud.

There was, also, the younger brother of a guy, that he’d, felt like an older brother to his own older brother, because his older brother needed to get taken care of more.  Thankfully, after the older brother received job trainings, he’d, started working, not only was he making his own way, he’d no longer needed to, be watched over staying at home, and he finally had the time, to do what he wanted to do, and felt the burdens, lifted from his shoulders now.

If the early interventions didn’t happen, then, the twins may still need someone else to help them at meal time, let alone how they’d, taken the college entrance exams; had the teachers not helped Shen adjust his behavior problems, he would now still be, misunderstood, as a “sex predator”; if the older brother didn’t get the job training he needed, the younger brother would still be, carrying that burden of taking care of him, and NOT had a life of his own, the life that he’d, wanted; and, those families that were, torn apart, because of the children’s conditions, after the children were, placed in the early intervention programs, the atmospheres at home became much better; and, the aging parents, who could, no longer look after their own young, and after they’d asked the First Welfare Foundation for assistance, they’d now, found time to breathe, for themselves…………

Every time I’d heard these stories, it’d, moved me very much, the teachers at the First Welfare Foundation, had originally, just wanted to, help the needed to have a better, a more comfortable life, but, their work had, touched the families as well, helped these families, changed for the better, giving a higher quality of life, of the family members.

Reason why I’d started this column, is because, I want the world to know, how extraordinary these teachers are, how they’re, using their, professionalism, their passions, persistence, and love, to help turn the families they’d helped, around, giving the families, new hope, so they can, keep on, hoping for, a better, a brighter future for themselves.

And so, this, is considered the fishing pole program, because this foundation had helped those who are, mentally decapacitated to have a skill set, to train them to take care of themselves, so, their families no longer need to worry about them all the time, and, this is an amazing program, and we should have more of these, social welfare foundations that are, doing this sort of work in the world.

The Former Judge Who’d Hired a Call Girl, Still Didn’t Change His Nature, During His Hospitalization, He’d, Grabbed a Nurse’s Behind

Apparently, you just, can’t CHANGE the NATURE of a L-O-S-E-R, NO matter WHAT his profession is! Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

The former high court judge, Kao, was relieved of his duties as a judge, due to many improper behaviors including soliciting, he was accused of grabbing a female nurse’s buttocks while he was being treated in the hospitals; Yang claimed he was immobilized, that he and the nurse interacted as any patient and nurse had, the D.A.’s office in Taipei reviewed over the surveillance footages, and believed he’d, touched the woman intentionally, and charged him with breaking the laws against sexual harassment.

The sixty-six year-old Yang, received his judgeship as a member of the sixteenth justice program, while he worked as a judge of the highest court, he was caught, for having rented a property to use it as a personal accommodation center, set up the workshops, and started selling the antiques on the side, and while during his workhour, he’d even, gone out of his office, to hire hookers, he was relieved of his duties as a judge by the committee.

The D.A. investigated, during July this year, Yang was accused of having cervical spinal surgery up north, during his time of observation after his surgical procedure, he’d grabbed a nurse in the hallway of the hospital ward, and ran his hand from her buttocks to her thighs, the female nurse was so thrilled, she’d, wheeled him back into his hospital room immediately. Yang even requested the woman to take off her surgical mask so he could see how pretty she looked, stated, “You have such a pretty face, it’s such a shame, that you let your surgical mask block it.”

like this???查看來源圖片photo found online…

The nurse was angered, and reported to the hospital, then filed a complaint against him, during the interrogations, Yang denied the sexual harassment charges, claimed because he couldn’t bend over, he’d needed to tell her his back ached, that was why he’d, reached his hands out, and touched to show where he was hurting; the woman was wearing trousers, and he wasn’t able, to touch any of her skin.

As for his asking her to remove her surgical mask, Yang claimed it was because he wanted to know what she looked like, so he could say “hi” back to her when he sees her again; the D.A. reviewed over the surveillance footages, found that they are no more than a meter apart, Yang could bend down, and touch her buttocks.

The D.A. believed that Yang was trying to get out of being punished for sexual misconduct, and that he’d worked as a judge, he couldn’t have not known, what constitutes as sexual harassment, he was charged, of sexual misconducts as he should be.

And so, this still just showed, how you MOTHER FUCKING (don’t pardon me here!) LOSERS still can’t KEEP your FUCKING HANDS to YOURSELVES, because she is a female nurse in her uniform skirt, she deserved to get GRABBED in the ass, is that it? And surely enough, this LOSER got charged, and hopefully, he’ll be, serving a LONG sentence for his sexual misconduct, and he should be punished, MORE severely, compare to if a layperson being charged with the same crimes, because he’s a JUDGE himself!

Untitled for Life

All the things you deemed to be important, are actually, N-O-T!  Helping you put things into, perspective, thoughts from the wilderness, translated…

Laptop, succulent plants, the moon, the fog, the porridge, ended in a day.

The autumn wind became too famished like the screams of that gecko on the wall.

Using a vowel, trying to catch the aromas of the sweet olive from the lanai, and the habanero is also, turning red now.

what we’re, in pursuit of…artwork found online

Suddenly, the sweet talking nightingale started, cussing out.  Urine, held in, to allow all the noises to fall into, their, rightful places.

And so, this, is what you’re, reduced to, unimportant at night, and you need to go to the bathrooms, and something’s holding you back, and it’s, just this, urgency that if you don’t go, your bladder’s gonna, bust, and that, is what becomes, of your, life, meaningless………

The Air, My Friend

The column by Jimmi Liao, on what’s instinctive to someone, may not be instinctive to another, and we shouldn’t, judge one another based off of what we know!  Translated…

Can’t believe they’re, learning to swim, what do they learn in learning to swim, isn’t that supposed to be, instinct?

Nope.

the artwork that came with the passage, off of UDN.com

Not at all.

By this “conversation”, we can tell, how we lacked respect for what each other has, that we make judgments of one another based off of our personal experiences, and the thing is, everybody has different experiences in life, just because it’s something you know, that doesn’t mean, that everybody knows it too…
