Because of #MeToo, these victims of sexual assaults are now, all coming, out into, the open, on how the victims had no place to go, to get the help they are in dire need of, because the perps are, those in a higher status position, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
A retired rollerblading competitor on the tenth of this month, posted an article, titled, “The DARKEST Day of My Competition Career”, detailed how more than twenty years ago, during her schooling days, a male coach touched her pubic area, and molested her, and that as she thought of it now, she’d felt, “dirtied”, and posted the dialogues that they had between them, demanded a public apology from her former coach. This coach is currently a coach of the nation’s competition teams at the National Training Center, the National Training Center already terminated his coaching contract, and the R.O.C. Roller Skating Association is also involved in the investigations, they’re calling a disciplinary committee evaluation soon.
The Department of Education in Tainan stated, that from the posting, they’d learned, that the victim was a rollerblading competitor back in her middle and high school years, as she was being trained away from the city, she was sexual molested after she’d entered into middle school, that the Department of Education will go by the mandates of sexual harassment in the school or sexual bullying prevention laws, and after confirming what had happened, they will then, switch to the local offices to investigate. The city of Tainan will also offer the victims the needed help in counseling if they sought it out.
The victim posted on National Independence Day, wrote about how she was, sexually molested by her coach, stated that there may be the noises that came after her post, but she has no regrets for posting what she’d posted.
She’d posted her conversation records, stated that in her middle school years, she got sexually harassed, even molested by a reputed coach in the southern regions of Taiwan; these incidents, caused her to drop out of the competitive ring, and every time she saw that particular coach, she was overcome with fears. In the conversations, she’d stated angrily, that as she thought of how the coach touched her privates, she’d felt dirty, “I can’t understand, how could you, do that, to a girl this young”, and the responses from the man came, stating he was sorry for what he’d done, over, over, and over again.
And her posting stated, that once after the competition, she’d returned to Tainan, a female coach saw her behaving weird, and asked her if the coach “touched you”, she’d answered, “yes”, the female coach stated, “I knew it”, but, nothing happened after that. The coach whom she’d relied on for help, responded like so, and due to her family backgrounds, nobody could help her, “it was like I was the one who’d done something wrong!”
The conversations with the coach, he’d admitted, “That was when I was young, I’d felt guilty about what I’d done”, didn’t know how to apologize. But the following day, the coach stated, that he was old, that he’d not remembered any of it, that was when the victim decided to post everything, the conversations onto FB, to the public.
And so, this is how hard it is, for these, victims to get justice, because, in most of these cases, the one who’d raped, molested are usually someone in a power position, a high reputation, and the victims are, nobodies, and they can’t get the help they needed when it happened, and they still can’t get the justice that is rightfully, theirs, even after so many, years.
