A One-Year-Old Infant Accidentally Ingested Heroin, the Mother Charged, Sentenced to Five Months

NEGLIGENCE HOMICIDE is what THIS was!  Because this young child had been in contact with the illegal substances way before this man moved in to the residence, that’s why he got away, off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

The dealer, Cho, a little over three years ago, was found to have illegal substances inside his home when he was serving time, his wife, Wang provided the drugs to a friend, Hsiao, and had him look after her own young daughter, but, the child of only a little over a year old ingested some heroin, died in a horrid manner, the courts found from the forensic reports, that since the child was only six months old, she’d been in contact with the illegal substances, and charged the mother with manslaughter, sentenced her to five months, and she could pay the money to skip her prison time, Hsiao had the charges dropped, this can still be appealed.

In the midnight hours of July 9th, 2017, a one-year-five-months-old young girl in Taichung was found to be in a comatose, rushed to the hospital, the paramedics found that her coma was caused by her mistakenly ingesting heroin and other substances, and because she was poisoned too much, they’d treated her until the 28th of the same month, when she died.

The district attorneys found, that the father of the child was arrested on June 2nd on drug charges, left his stash of heroin, amphetamine, and other controlled substances that weren’t discovered by the police raids, that the young daughter mistakenly ingested the substances, and died, because the father of the child had already been taken into custody, he wasn’t charged for her death, but he was sentenced to ten years for trafficking and selling drugs, is currently serving in prison.

After the child’s father was taken into police custody, his wife, Wang (age 37), in order for her husband to make bail, she’d given the heroin left by her husband at home to a man, the thirty-eight year-old Hsiao to abuse, hoping that he can testify, that her husband had nothing to do with the substances, so he could make bail.

In order to get the substances and not pay for them, Hsiao agreed to head over to Wang’s residence, and helped her look after her young children.  At the midnight hour of July 9th, after Hsiao injected himself with heroin, he’d placed the needle where the young girl can reach, and Wang also left a bag of drugs in the room, causing the child to mistakenly ingest the drugs, as Hsiao found, he’d waken Wang up and rushed the young child to the E.R., but in the end, the child still, died.  The district attorneys charged Wang and Hsiao with manslaughter.

The judge weighed, that Wang knew there were the illegal substances at home, and that the young child is in her oral stage, and puts everything into her mouth, as the victim’s mother, she should be making sure that the drugs are out of reach from her young, but allowed the child to grab the drugs, and, stuffed it into her mouth, causing her daughter to die of overdose, and it’d confirmed that the death was, manslaughter.

The Collectivist Courts used the forensic sample from the child’s hair, which showed that she’d been ingesting heroin, amphetamine, and other controlled substances within six months, and found, that way before Hsiao started moving in to the residence, she’d been ingesting the substances, found Hsiao not guilty of negligence.

But, who should be held responsible for this young kid’s death?  The mother, for sure, and this man too, because the child had accidentally ingested the heroin under his care, and yet, only the mother was charged.

A Woman Spied on Her Husband Who was Having an Affair, Followed Him from Taichung to Fujian, Case Solved

Women are great private investigators when it comes to things like this that’s for sure, as this loser still attempted to WEASEL, and he was unsuccessful, because his WIFE is, too intelligent!  Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

A woman, Chen found it odd, that her husband often went to China, once she’d followed him there on the ships, and forced him to admit, “I have another woman, with kids” I needed to deal with; she’d wanted to just turn a blind eye, but as her husband had the webcam chats with the other woman in front of her, she got furious, sold the land, and pressed charged against him.  Although Chen’s husband told, that “I’d admitted to having another woman to get under her skin”, but the courts used the voice recording files, and mandated that he needed to pay his wife $300,000N.T. for the emotional distresses.

In 2018, Chen found her husband had gone to China quite frequently, and every time he’d not told her he was going off, and took a ton of cash away, she’d started suspecting that he had another woman in China.

At noon on August 19th, Chen found her husband, after waking up, rushed in the shower, and headed off in a hurry, she’d asked, “Where are you going?”, he’d, dodged answering her, and told her to butt out, then, rushed off.  She’d shockingly thought, that he may be off to China again, and checked and found her husband’s passport gone, decided to follow behind him.

As Chen took her passport to the Port of Taichung, bought the fare, and she’d found her husband for sure; he’d refused to tell her why he was heading over to China, she’d decided to tag along behind him, followed him to Fujian, as they reached shore, her husband told her, “I’m with someone else in China, I have a child too, I need to take care of it.”, asked her to give him time so he can, try to get rid of the child, and take care of the other woman.

Chen was forced to accept it as a fact, but cherished her marriage too, decided to give her husband a second chance. But, she’d found that he’d gone to China again, to cohabit with the other woman, and had webcam conferences with the other woman with her right there, she’d decided that she was done with forgiveness, sold off the land that her husband gave to her as a gift, and sued him for encroachment, and demanded that he paid her in court.

Her husband claimed, that during the time he was away in China, she took up with another man, after they couldn’t communicate, to get his wife angered, that was why he’d lied about how he was having another woman too, but he didn’t.  He said, that he’d lied about the other woman a long, long, long time, that his wife was suing, to cover up the fact that she wanted the assets left by his families to him, to divert the attention.

But the judge reviewed over the voice files provided by Chen and found Chen stated, “it’s you!  You’re the one taking up with another, and have a child too, and you asked me to prove my faithfulness to you, how do you plan to handle this?”  Her husband answered, “I will deal with the other woman.”  Chen stated, “You have another woman”, and he’d stated, “I’d already, broken it off with her…………”, and based off of that, the judge believed that the infringement claims were, true.

And this still showed???  Oh yeah, we women keep on forgiving, and forgetting, while you MOTHER @$!%ERS keep on humping around, with your whores, and now you have an illegitimate child, you still ask us to put up with your FUCKED (don’t pardon me here!) up ways?  And we’re all what?  Just supposed to look the other way, and feel blessed that you LOSERS still come crawling back?  Well, I got NEWS for you FUCKERS (don’t pardon!): we won’t, because we’re all done, forgiving, and we will, NEVER forget, as in, E-V-E-R.  Not in this sort of a serious betrayal.

The Female Army Officer in the Navy Slept with Her Superior, as Adultery Was Decriminalized, the Charges Were Dropped Against Her

Due to how the laws are changed here on matters of adultery, she’d not gotten, ANY jail time, but she still needed to pay for the emotional distress that she’d caused her superior’s wife!  Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

When a woman, Kao was serving her armed service terms on the Navy Ships, she had sex with a married male officer, Su, and her other service mates taped it.  Su’s wife sued Kao for obstruction of family, Kao was originally given a four months sentence, in the process of the appeals, the Grand Justice announced the nullification of adultery being a criminal act, the Collectivist Courts tossed the original verdict, and found Kao not guilty of the charges.  Su’s wife sued her in the civil front, and, Kao is mandated to pay the Su’s wife $900,000N.T.s.

After the incident, the Navy took both off their duties on “differentiation of sex”, and “the rules regarding the disciplines of Navy”; both had left the Navy now.

The verdict pointed out, Su and Kao served on the same ship together, Kao knew that Su was already married, from August of 2018 to May of 2019, she’d still had sex with him twenty times in the hotels of the city of Kaohsiung, the bed-and-breakfast in Suao, along with on the battleship, parked at Keelung Harbor too.

As a radar sergeant noted this, on March 29th of last year, he placed a cell phone in the floor of the office, and turned the lens toward the desk, turned on the video recording function, then, used the mask to cover up the cell phone, captured the footages of Su and Kao having sex together.

As the sergeant got his cell phone back, he’d cut the footages into two films, last May, he’d passed the footages out to many of the servicepersons on the ship to see.  As Kao and Su learned, they’d reported the matter to the superiors, the sergeant was found guilty of obstruction of secret, and invasion of privacy, sentenced to eight months.

Su’s wife in May last year received a copy of the footage as well, and sued Kao.  Kao confessed to it, the Keelung District Court used a simplified verdict.  Kao and Su had sexual intercourse twenty times, both sentenced to two months in prison each, and are to serve a total of four years in prison, and on probation for five years.

Kao fought for an appeal, the grand justice this year cited how the laws of adultery had become null and void this year in May, and retracted the verdict of the original suit, and the charges were, dropped.

Yeah uh, this, is what the “new” law did, it helps these ADULTERERS get away with what they did, and that’s just not fair, because by decriminalizing adultery, that means, that as the spouses of these CHEATERS, there’s, NOTHING we can do, to put an end to their, bad behaviors, and the law did NOT protect the “victims”, in these cases, the spouses, here…

The Sixth Grader Ran on the Track Field, Became a Vegetable, the School Mandated to Pay the Families

Knowing this student’s heart condition, the instructor still made him run, that’s why the school is mandated to pay!  Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

Four years ago, a sixth grade boy with a heart condition, ran around the school track, fell down, he was rushed to the hospital, and became a vegetable, the families filed a suit toward the country, the Taichung District Court found that school needed to pay the boy’s families until he turned twenty, the amount of over $40,000N.T. per month for the medical fees, and over $20,000N.T. per month extra until he’s sixty, that the amount of over $4.36 million N.T. needed to be paid to the boy and his mother for emotional distress.

The parents told, that filing the suit against the country is to get justice for their son who’s “growing up but never waking up”, and they hoped that their son will be the last victim of the negligence of the school campuses, the school already filed for an appeal.

The verdict stated, that the boy had a congenital heart condition, isn’t fitted for hard exercises, and all his teachers knew this.

On the morning of October 20th, 2016, the homeroom instructor told the whole class to get on the track field to practice running, and the instructor stayed in the class, not gone out to keep an eye on the students, allowed the boy to run two laps, the boy started swaying left and right, limping, and started panting, turning pale, along with other symptoms that he was not will.  The homeroom instructor saw, but didn’t call the ambulance immediately, the student was carried by another instructor to the nurse’s office, where the nurse performed CPR, until the paramedics arrived.

The judge believed, that the homeroom instructor wasn’t monitoring the boy when he was running, and not paid enough attention to how he was afterwards, and as the boy passed out, she’d not called the ambulance on time, that it all fitted into negligent in care, that the school should pay for the damages on behalf of the country.

And so, because you weren’t paying enough attention to this student with a HEART condition, and you made him run the laps, that’s why you’re, responsible, for his death, and the school got sued for it, because of the teacher’s not paying enough attention to the student’s health conditions.

The Hsinbei’s Hope Sprouting Plan Helped Nearly a Thousand Students to Go to School

A helping hand, for those children who want to get educated but are having difficulties affording it themselves, off of the Newspapers, translated…

The city of Hsinbei implemented the “Hope Sprouting Education Plan” last year, matching the hundreds of cram schools in the districts, to give the students from elementary to high school who are from bad economic circumstances a whole year’s worth of tuition free learning help sessions, including the academic subjects as well as music, abacus, mental calculations, and many other skills, this year, there were, close to a thousand students who’d signed up for it.

Yu who graduated from middle school because of this free tutoring program was successful in getting into the art track in high school, Ming who graduated from elementary school received free English help sessions, and gotten into the G.T. programs of middle school, and received a full scholarship.

The Department of Education pointed out, that any students who have a household registry in Hsinbei City, and qualified for low income sustenance, or other qualifications, can all apply for the “Hope Sprout Education Plan”, and the period of assistance lasts from September of this year to June of next year.

The head of Social Services agency under the Department of Education, Huang stated, that since the first year of this plan, it’d helped 500 students, and this year, it’d, almost doubled to 964 children, and other than the academic help, the system also included dance, chess, piano, music theory, and art, along with other forms of talents, and one student can apply for one course.

Yu who just graduated from middle school this year, showed an immense interest in drawing since he was young, in his second year of middle school, he’d decided to take the exams to go into a high school with the art trainings, but his family economic couldn’t allow, so he was thinking of choosing an alternative track, but under this plan, he was trained formally by an art studio, and, this year, he got into the art department of a certain public high school.

Another student, Ming, who just entered into his first year of middle school this year, being from a single parent household, although he lived under poverty stricken means, he’d kept his grades in the front of his class, he wanted to improve his English skills, his mom filed for the application of the Sprouting Plan, so her son’s English performance excelled, and he was able to test into the GT English class of a certain private high school, and received full-scholarship too.

So, these assistance programs are working wonders for these students who are willing and able learners, but lacked the monetary advantage, and this program lets them pursue their studies, with no worries of money, which allowed them to excel in the subjects they’re good in, which gives them a way, to pull themselves, out of their poverty stricken backgrounds, and this is a good program.

Why Feel Loss, as Life Approaches its Dusk

A second life, the right attitude to take, toward aging here, translated…

Few years before I retired, every year I’d find some time, to travel around the island for a few days with my wife, or, work with the time schedules of the local celebrations, and it’d always, left those, memories so memorable to us.

As I retired, all of us, coworkers, good friends all regained our own freedoms of mind and body back, and, we no longer just, traveled as couples, but, hollered out to those who will join us, and, the group of us would tour everywhere, to hike up the mountains, and, the frequencies turned from once a month to weekly trips.

And, every time we’d gone out with different people, and, we had different habits, and, getting along with each other became, something we all had to, work on.  But thankfully, everybody is’ older, and we can, all learn, to tolerate each other, and find that delicate, balance, which made these trips, good experiences, very memorable.

Some say, the best assets as we entered into our elderly years, is to have friends with whom we can share things with.  Surely, in this aging community, the younger generations aren’t willing, or without the time, to stay close to the elders that they have, and, we, the aging need to have that understanding, to know, that having the company of old friends, so we won’t, lose the center of our lives.

And, looking on the world, there are, too many, disasters, and my friends were all touched by them, we couldn’t, predict, at what moment, these things can, befall onto us, and we’d, learned, that living in the moment is the most important; especially where we are in our lives, we should, take a hold onto, that colorful sunset, before the sun goes down, so we don’t, waste our lives.

Growing old is a process we must all face, but, no need to feel stressed.  The old saying stated it well, “knowing how beautiful the sunset is, no need to fear when the sun sets.”, how to keep life radiant, colorful, fulfilled, it’s all reliant on your selves; gather around with a group of friends, to go outdoors, to immerse yourselves in nature, it’s, not a bad idea!

And so, as life slows itself down, you’re, nearing the sunsets of your lives, and, instead of feeling worried over death, you should take this attitude of having been through everything, and start enjoying your life after retirement, because you never know when your lives are ending, so you should, take advantage, to live out the rest of your aging life better!

His Wife, Physically Handicapped, the Husband Lost it, Suffocated Her to Death

The shortcomings, of the long-term care program set up by the government here, was a contributing reason for this tragedy!  Off of the Front Page Sections, translated…

An elderly man, Tsai who was left to care for his own severely physically handicapped wife long-term, was suspected of not being able to handle it physically and psychologically any longer, awhile ago, he was suspected of putting a plastic bag over her head in an attempt to kill her.  As Tsai saw his wife, Wu lost signs of life, he’d called the hospital, and turned himself in, the hospital was able to resuscitate her back to life once, but two days ago, she’d still died of multiple organ failures, two days ago the D.A. interrogated the elderly man, charged him on murder, and set his bail for $50,000N.T.s.

The police investigated, that Tsai (age 67), and his wife, Wu (age 65) were married for over thirty years, the children are all with stable jobs, and are all married, they’re doing fine economically, but many years ago, Wu had a stroke, and had the continued repeated cycles of urinary tract infection, she’d spent her time on her sickbed, and had been transferred in and out of the hospital, that Tsai was her primary caretaker.

Based off of understanding, Wu suffered multiple strokes of late, had been bedridden long term, in a wheelchair, and her daily living is taken care of by her husband, Tsai and the hired nurse’s aide, a while ago, Wu ran a fever, was hospitalized, and the nurse’s aide also fell ill, and Tsai shouldered both their care.

what the man was left alone in dealing with…

He was suspected of getting burned out lately, at a little past eleven at night on the fifth of this month, he’d lost it, with a plastic bag filled with toilet paper, he’d, suffocated his wife, as he saw his wife’s heart stopped, thought that she was dead, he’d run to the nurse’s station, told the nurse on duty, “I murdered someone, I’m sorry!”, the hospital immediately took the victim to the I.C.U. to resuscitate, she was saved.

As the police were called, they took Tsai into custody, Tsai claimed, that his wife had been bedridden for a very long time, he could no longer care for her, that he tried to murder his own wife because he can no longer take it anymore; at a little past nine in the morn two days ago, Wu still died, due to multiple organ failures, as her son gave the statement at the substation, he was distraught.

And this sort of tragedies will keep on happening, because of the reduced birthrate, and how people are living longer, longer, and longer by the years, and, because there’s NO system of support, for these primary caretakers to get their needed breaks, that’s why they snapped.

No Worries

Can’t set our minds at ease, no matter what, because we cared too much about each other!  Translated…

My son has, absolutely NO faith, that his scatterbrained mother can take care of his young by herself, and I can’t feel secure, that he’s riding out late at night, making the deliveries, it’s, a looped around cycle of worrying, between parents and children.

The sudden onset of the outbreak of MERS-CoV, it’d, impacted the industries across the world, being on the front lines in the tourism industries, you can’t imagine it.  And, even though, we’re, going into, the post-outbreak times, the tourist industries tried to make it, by, proposing the trips within the country, but my daughter-in-law is responsible for the tour groups abroad, and, it’s going to take a while, until that start back up again.  In this very hard time, those who worked in her office took the pay cuts, some got laid off, everybody was on high alert, some quickly, transferred to alternative industries of work, to take the baseline minimum monthly wages to make ends meet.  And at this time, my young granddaughter came, and, other than the basic living needs, there’s, this extra expense, and so, my son had to, start making the deliveries after his regular work hours.

Canceling the nannies, and I’d become, the temp nanny, and I, naturally, supported my son’s methods of saving the money.  Actually, I’d, longed to have a grandchild a very long time, and, as I was gloating on it, my son handed me the Holy Bible of childcare that the nurses made from the hospital for the new parents, reiterated, “When you make the milk, first the water in the bottle, then the formula, make sure that the formula is melted completely, to the left and right, don’t shake the bottle up and down then, place it under the sink to get it cooled off, it can’t be too hot.” “Pour the unfinished amount out, don’t save it for the next feeding time.”  “Now the diapers have the signals of if it’s wet, when the signal turned from yellow to blue, time to change.” “Newborns shouldn’t sleep on their tummy, it would cause sudden infant death.”  “oh, and don’t feed her any water!”

I nodded, like a good student, listening to the words of the school teacher, thought: this first-time grandma, is an excellent master back when, it’s just, I hadn’t, be in the realms a long time, I’d just, lost, all of my childrearing methods.

And, even though he’s away at work, he was, ill at ease, my LINE kept ringing nonstop.  “Mom, nothing’s going on, I just want to check in.”  “Did you put her down to a nap yet?”  “She cries a lot these few days, can you manage it?”, and, to stop him from flash-messaging, I’d sent him the photos of my young granddaughter, even though it was over forty years since I took care of a baby, but I still got it, I can, so totally, handle, a baby.

And, I’d, finally set my son’s mind to ease, but he’d, gotten me worried, I’d told him as he was getting out, “If you bump into a gambler, a drunk, or a drug dealer, if something feels like it’s, going south, RUN like the wind!” my son laughed at me, “it don’t matter who’s calling the deliveries, so long as they pay up.”  He’d not come home late in the night, and I’d not dared, sat in the living room and wait up, and, as I heard the key turn the lock outside, my unsettled heart calmed, and suddenly, by the following second, I was, able to, drift off into dreams.

Recalling how forty years back, I’d worked night and day, to help pay up the debts accumulated by my in-law’s family, my son were given to my ill mother-in-law and my chain-smoking father-in-law, I’d often snuck back home during work, to check out my eldest with two snots rolling down from his nostrils, getting held too tight, by my mother-in-law, whose bones had been malformed from arthritis; and my youngest son was often burned by accident by my father-in-law who had a cigarette in his mouth, dozed off to sleep, and yet, as I saw how sorry my in-laws looked, I couldn’t blame them.  And, no matter how awful, how insecure I’d felt, I still needed to believe, that these grandparents who may not be able to handle them, have the best intentions in mind, and will do their best, to care for my young sons.

Let go.  Set your heart at ease.  I’d, warned myself: the outbreaks shall pass soon, and everything will become normal, I just need to take care of my granddaughter well, so my son won’t have any worries, working, we both, need to, have that ease of mind here.

And so, this showed, just how, intertwined the parents and children are, from before, you worried about your own young, and now, he worries about his own young, and you too, and this, is just how parents and children are, we all worry too much!

The Supper He Made

So glad that it’s NOT my day to cook today!!!  Translated…

Looking at the table’s worth of food he’d prepared, I was, moved, became, dumbfounded!  The steamed crab, the pepper shrimps, the pan-seared tofu, the ginseng black-boned chicken…………all of which are, my favorites.

But three months ago before, from when my husband started, cooking the suppers on the weekends, it wasn’t, that wonderful scent of food that made my mouth watered that came out of the kitchen, and, what he’d made then, tasted, exactly like what I would take out to throw as trash, what’s worse was, he would NOT allow anybody, to criticize his, cooking skills.

To fight to my right to NOT cook on the weekends, I’d fought with him, for almost five years, him being, too macho, and no matter what, he just couldn’t accept the fact, that I do NOT want to cook on the weekends.  Back then he’d stated it too clearly, that we can go out to eat every now and then, but not every weekend.

Being raised by the feminist era, I naturally could NOT accept the time that women are allowed to have off from being a wife and/or a mother.  Taking care of the family during the week, I know I’m reasonable, for NOT wanting to make the meals on the weekends.  Should the mothers shoulder everything?

圖/Dofa
illustration from UDN.com

And, we’d disagreed, more and more, and the meals on the weekends became, a war zone, the stresses was, building, I just, wanted to, get away from the warzone, and every time weekend rolled around, I’d, wanted to, not go home for supper, and not wanted my own families to worry, in the end, I can only, wander alone on the streets.  Then, my husband got into a silent treatment war, and I felt, defeated, over my own marriage.

One day, at supper, my child asked me abruptly, what his grandma liked to eat from what I cooked?  I was stumped, then, said, “tell the truth, I’d never cooked anything for your grandmother ever!”

My child was surprised, “What?  Grandma had never had anything you cooked?”

My husband who was already finished, looked at me instantly, then, lowered his head back to his cell phone.

I told my son, “before I wed, I was my mother’s baby girl, she’d never made me cook, told me that cooking was hard and hot, and even as we go home to visit her, she still wouldn’t allow me to cook.”

“So, is that why you cook so much right now, because you love it?”, he continued asking.  “I don’t like to cook, actually, I HATE it!”

“Then why are you cooking every day?”, my son actually hoped that he could have burgers every day.

“because nobody will cook for me, because I need to watch out for your health!  That’s why I’d, grit my teeth, and no matter how I hated it, I still, cooked every single day!”

his turn to cook!

photo from online

At this time, my husband’s cell phone had, turned black and he’d, failed to notice, because he was too focused, “eavesdropping” on my son and I.  And, this conversation may have, touched some part of him, and, he’d, turned that into the table’s worth of meal three months later, on this, very day.

And so, all it took, was for you, to LET your husband KNOW, that you got tired of having to make every single meal, but, he’d not understood, because you NEVER told him verbally, because you probably thought, that he should, already KNOW it, but he didn’t, NOT until he’d eavesdropped into that conversation you had with your son.

Until the Darkness Swallowed Us, Whole…

Until the darkness swallowed us, whole, we will, NEVER be aware enough of what the darkness entailed, and, by the time the darkness takes us over, it’d be, too late!  Until the darkness swallowed us, whole, until we have, NO more light, we won’t, know just, how precious, light really is, as we’d, taken it, for granted, all this time…

Until the darkness swallowed us, whole, but, that would be, too late then, we would’ve, sunk, too deep, into, that darkened, abyss, to even, get our selves, back out to the surfaces again.  Until the darkness swallowed us, whole, it’s always, until the darkness swallowed us is, took that light away, would we, finally realized, just, how precious, light is, in our lives, but by then, we have, NO way of, getting it back.
