The Star of Tomorrow in the Police Department Suspected of Taking Kickbacks from the Brothels

A TRULY BAD example, of police officers here, knowing the law, AND breaking it, all because of M-O-N-E-Y!!!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

The Taipei District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case of the Zhongshan Police Substation’s overlooking the operations of the sex shops, and found, that the former executive sergeant, Wu, was suspected of overlooking the brothels in his district while he was working in the local areas, and he took in bribe of $15,000N.T. per month, the district attorneys called Wu to their offices yesterday.  Wu denied being involved, the district attorneys believe he was evasive in his answering the inquiries, and, after they’d interrogated him, they set his bail at half a million dollars, and the former sergeant of the same station was out on bail of $700,000N.T.s, both men’s passports were turned in, to prevent flight risk.

The D.A. investigated and found, that there were FIVE members of this police substation who’d not only overlooked the operations of the brothels in their area, but also protected the male sex workers in certain whorehouses, so the men can keep on selling, from 2007 to 2016, the police officers at the station took in around seven million dollars N.T. worth of bribe.  After the District Attorney’s Offices indicted the officer Tseng at the start of this year, they’d zoomed in on the lead, that led them to suspect that Wu, Ho, Gao, and Yang were taking in bribes, Gao and Yang turned themselves in to the D.A.’s Office, and were both out on $200,000N.T.s bail and restricted from going abroad.

Based off of investigations, Wu was accused of overlooking the operations of the famous brothels on Linseng N. Road, and, the male prostitutes who’d accompanied the female guests out, were paid anywhere from $6,000 N.T. to $8,000N.T. each time.

Wu is an entry level officer, he’d worked in the specialized task squads, later he tested into the police college, last July he was transferred to the executive units, worked in areas of scanning for the sex industry operations.  He was perceived as a star of tomorrow in the police department, and now, he’d, ruined his own future.

The case all started, with how the local substation took the bribes of $40,000N.T. a month, to overlook the Japanese-Style bar’s operations in the sex trade, the Taipei D.A.’s Office last year took the former substation manager, Lin along with nine other officers into custody, there were seven officers who’d denied having taken the bribes, the D.A. is asking the judge to give them all heavy sentences.

The Taipei District Court not long ago set the bails for Lin and six other officers at $300,000N.T. to $1,200,000N.T.’s, and demanded that they don’t contact one another who are involved in the case, primary reason being, how the D.A. is still gathering the evidence in the case of Wu’s overlooking the operations of the man whore shops, and recently, they’d, gained valid evidence against him.

And so, this, is how someone gets enticed by money, and, these men, threw away a perfect career with the police forces, for what?  A few dollars, and now, they’re not just, getting fired, they’re also, looking at doing some HARD time for taking in the bribes, and, these sex shops are really bad too, in thinking, that they can PAY off the police to look the other way so they can, keep on operating.
