The convict, Chien on attempted murder charges, before serving his time, he’d gone to the hospital under protective custody for five years before serving his sentence, he’d escaped on the nineteenth, it took until yesterday when the police finally found, that he’d taken the greyhound bus, and was headed to Taipei, and they hadn’t caught him yet. The police told, that Chien doesn’t have a cell phone, and they can only track him via the surveillance cameras on the streets, he would evade the places with the cameras, and weave in and out of traffic, which makes tracking him down even harder, the police is doing all that they can to try to arrest him.
Chien is close to forty years of age, sentenced on attempted murder charges for three years for assaulting a woman in Wanhwa District, Taipei last January, he was placed in probationary custody for five years, sent to the Keelung Hospital for his term of five years. At ten in the morn on the nineteenth, Chien escaped, the Taipei D.A.’s Office issued an APB, the criminal investigations unit also issued an emergency case, notified the local police around the country.
After Chien escaped, the Keelung City Education Department announced the closing of all campuses across the city, to keep the students safe; on the evening of the twentieth, the Keelung police found that Chien walked himself out of the hospitals on the nineteenth, all the way to the city and he’d gone into a super convenience store to steal drinks on the way.
Yesterday morn, the police chief of Keelung, Weng and the head of the city sanitation department, Weng told, that Chien borrowed the cab fare from a random person, got on the greyhound bus toward Badozi, Ruifang direction, alighted on the Keelung Greyhound bus, but they hadn’t found him yet.
Chang told, that Chien had been treated at the hospital for over two months, he hadn’t shown any signs of violence to date. The Department of Sanitations already had the hospital make a statement on the matter.
The police checked the records of the bus routes, confirmed that Chien got off the bus, and transferred onto route 1579, to Nanking E. Road Sanming Road intersection of Taipei, and got off, the police of the two cities are currently corresponding to catch him.
It took the Keelung police to finally find out that Chien rode to Taipei on the nineteenth, and they were criticized very severely; the police explained, that Chien didn’t have a cell phone, that they can’t use GPS to track him, and he would evade the surveillance cameras on the streets too, that due to mental instability, he would weave in and out of coming traffic, catching the bus at random, with no logic of travel that the police can follow, which made it difficult for the authorities to track him.
And so, a killer is on the loose, and chances are, he will, go back to finish what he’d started, and, this is another screw, coming loose, in the justice department, because it’s too easy, for a convicted attempted murderer (he did NOT murder anybody Y-E-T, only attempted it!), to evade the police in trying to, catch him.
