After the one-hour-forty-minute conference at Busan, South Korea, neither held a press conference, nor made their appearances together, disclosing what they talked about, Xi continued on to Gyeongju for his visit South Korea, with Trump, ending his trip in Asia, returned back to the WH to the Halloween Party in D.C. As for the highlights of the discussions, Taiwan that the press cared the most about, Trump told the press, that he and Xi didn’t talk about Taiwan.

The foreign press made three explanations for why the conference between Trump and Xi didn’t mention Taiwan: first, to reach his deal with Chin in trade, Trump avoided this subject that’s too sensitive to Xi, to get Beijing to concede; secondly, both may have discussed the problem of Taiwan to some extent, but, for whatever reasons Trump may have, he’d, lied to the press that they didn’t talk on the matter; thirdly, China and the U.S. may have reached a private consensus on the matter of Taiwan, and, the details of the agreement, there’s no way for the world to know.
Based off of the issued press release by Xinhua News, Xi stated, that the U.S. and China should “look at the big picture, to see the long-term benefits to both countries in cooperation, and not return to the vicious cycle of attacking one another.” And in this news release, there’s no mention of Taiwan either.
Based off of the official reports from Beijing, in the conference, Xi stated, that Trump actively pushed for the resolves of the issues between China and U.S., and China keeps on, using its own means, to work toward the resolves of these, topics of discussions that involves both U.S. and China, that China and the U.S. can both show the strengths of the important countries of the world, to work together, to do things that benefits both China and the U.S., along with the rest of the world too. In this conversation, Xi mentioned regional disputes, and started talking about the Russo-Ukrainian War, but still evaded the issues of Taiwan, clearly, if they weren’t avoiding the subject intentionally, they’re, reserved on the discussions; if the former is true, then, maybe it’s as the foreign news media reported, to reach the agreements in trade, Trump evades talking about Taiwan to get Beijing to concede; if it’s the latter, Trump will be visiting China in April next year, and, Xi may return the courtesy, by visiting the U.S. And by then, both countries may talk of the issue of, Taiwan. And so, not talking about Taiwan, may be a signal, for both Trump and Xi, “Economy comes first, politics, later.”
And, as Trump stated, there’s no discussion between him and Xi on the issue of Taiwan. The Department of Foreign Relations of Taiwan stated, that it will keep paying close attention to the higher up government officials of China and the U.S., see how they interact, that Taiwan and U.S. trust each other, with the open channels of, communication. There were the legislators of the DDP who’d stated, Trump stated “we didn’t discuss Taiwan”, this fitted to the long-term tacit understanding between the two countries, which suggested to how Taiwan will not become a bargaining chip in the negotiations of tariffs between U.S. and China.
The problem is: where can the channels of communication between the U.S. and us get to? Based off of Trump’s ways, we can’t even, touch him, and, it would be next to impossible for Taiwan to have any sort of an influence on the higher up government officials of the, Republican Party. Trump in this conference, got to discuss the issues of rare earth metal export, and the export of soy beans into China, and other deals, this was “victory” to him. And, in the future, when he can no longer get through to China on any matter of their discussions, the “pawn” of Taiwan may still be used by him. And by then, we would still, face the huge impacts, the strong hits.
And, the team led by Trump in the negotiations on the trade deals with China had used a lot of energies, the going back and forth between U.S. and China, showed that both had their separate concerns, and means to win the hand; while from the very beginning, Taiwan leaned toward the U.S., and now, the negotiations of the tariff rates against Taiwan is still up in the air. The key in this, is under the preset of without a set decision between U.S. and China, there won’t be a set deal between U.S. and Taiwan in the rates of tariffs against Taiwan.

And this situation of being hung in the air, is actually a huge obstacle to the trade and economic growths in Taiwan, if the government of Lai doesn’t gain the self-awareness, without the resolves, we may well be the biggest losers in the trade war between U.S. and China, what’s worse, we are played by both China and the U.S., this is not what we want to, see at all! Unfortunately however, up to this very day, the government led by Lai still wishfully thinks, that we have the care, attention and love of, Donald Trump.
And so, our fate lies in the hands of Xi now, because, Trump wants to appease Xi, and he would not do anything that will harm the deal of tariffs between U.S. and China, which means, this god damn island (without ANY more of the upper hand we used to have in semiconductor technologies???) will get gobbled up whole, and, the Taiwanese president WAS the one who SOLD us all, for SCRAPS here.
