As the PANDEMIC of AUTHORITARIANISM, slowly, began spreading across Southeast Asia here, and look at how these governments of the “developing countries” are FOOLING the people…off of the Front Page Sections, translated…
The elections commission in Vietnam awhile ago announced that there will be an election for the National Assembly, with a total of 864 candidates competing for five hundred, seats. Currently, the commission already met up with the candidates locally, To Lam, the general secretary of the Communist Party, he also went to the electoral district for a greet-and-meet with the citizens, and talked of the achievement of his trip to the U.S. and his plans for economic reform for the country’s future. From standing shoulder to shoulder with Trump to facing the voters, To Lam is showing the world, that Vietnam can be a partner to both the U.S. and China, the two major powers of the world, that he can also, push forth economic reform, and political reform for his, country.
Without a doubt, To Lam’s visit to the U.S. is very meaningful to the economic development and foreign relations of Vietnam. First, the ASEAN leaders who were present at the Peace Council included representatives from Indonesia, Vietnam and Cambodia, of the two, Indonesia had formally signed the papers as a formal member of the council, with Cambodia and Vietnam only expressing their willingness to participate in the conferences. And, the President of Indonesia, Subianto and Trump held a conference at the Peace Council, with To Lam to the WH to conference with Trump. Indonesia, as the leader of ASEAN countries, a certified democracy by the western societies, it’s an added bonus for the diplomatic achievements of Indonesia and Vietnam.
And, this was the second time the Secretary General of Vietnam had visited the U.S. post-Vietnam War. Because the secretary general of Vietnam isn’t the chairperson of the country, for a very long time, the elected official couldn’t directly interact with the American president. The visit of Nguyen in 2015 set the precedence, but at the time, Nguyen had been in the government position for close to five years, and now, in no more than two short years after So Lam’s been elected, he was invited to the U.S., this was, the extension of the relations between Vietnam and U.S. becoming a complete tactile partner, and also the U.S. affirmation toward So-Lam.
And, So-Lam did not concede to Trump on the matter of tariffs, but was successful in getting the agreement from Trump, to get Vietnam moved out of the list of the tariffs for export from Vietnam. To develop the advancement of its satellites, Vietnam had been working for many years. To break open this door, before the conference, the So-Lam government had certified the U.S. satellite company to build four bases in Vietnam, Trump’s lifting the restrictive on the allowance of Vietnam to develop the advance technologies was groundbreaking for Vietnam.
As for the Viet Cong’s calling the elections of the Party Congress, has the tones of competing with Chinese Communists in the leadership positions of social reforms. Of course, the elections in Vietnam is still guided by the Viet Cong, with the candidates decided by the Commissions (this time the Commission’s final conference had taken 177 candidates off the list), although there were the independents participating in the Party Congress, but, these were all nominated by those who are closest to the Communist Party of Vietnam, and naturally, they would never nominate someone who was going to challenge the leadership position of the Vietnames Communist Party. And still, the Vietnamese Congress is elected by direct election of the people of Vietnam, plus So-Lam’s pushing forth for the transparencies of the Vietnames government and the simplification of executives, this form of election has the concepts of combining an authoritarian government body with a small government, which is beneficial in shaping Vietnam into a forerunner of democracy and attracts the investors.
Trump held Vietnam and Indonesia in high regards, we can see, that the “countries in the gray areas” are rising up now. In his previous term, Trump had defined Communist Chinese government as a competitor of the U.S., he’d lost power of influence at one time in Southeast Asia. At the time, Indonesia leaned toward Beijing, with Vietnam, decreasing military cooperation with the U.S.
And now, the two countries are reestablishing that cooperative with the U.S., Trump is sticking his hand into the territory of influence of the Chinese Communist Party using the means of economical advancements. For Trump, the loyalties of the allies are, important without a doubt, but, the importance of the allies, is more important than the loyalties of U.S. allies.
Secondly, the political changes in Communist countries such as Vietnam, is slowly blurring the line between “democracy and authoritarianism”, with Trump and other western leaders no longer emphasizing the oppositions of authoritarianism and democracy. If diplomatic relations are based off of the interest of the country, then, democracy won’t be the standards the countries use to differentiate between allies and enemies; if these countries can really embrace the values of democracy, believing in peace and democracy, then, there should be more encouragements given to the undemocratic countries adding in the characteristics of democracies in the ruling of these countries.
And so, this is how authoritarianism still MASK itself up as democracy, because these elections are RIGGED, with only the party in control of the government’s candidates running for the seats in the parliament or congress, and it’s not even an A-B choice (with the ball getting tossed back and forth?) but only the choice of A or B, with the government’s rigging the elections, and you call that democracy? Just because we have the “choices” (yeah right!) of many candidates to choose from, but if they’re all from one political party, is that having a choice? I think not! Because no matter how WE the SLAVES (that’s what we became!) choose, it’s still that uni-party that runs our countries, to the GROUND.
This is PSEUDO-DEMOCRACY, and these IDIOTS still think that they have the freedom to choose? Give ME a break!
