Unrelented in Chasing After Her Idol

Showing her support for her favorite performer, throwing down the big bucks to attend all of her, performances, translated…

On the pursuits of the famed and famous, our entire family uses our, rationalities, rarely would we, become, fanatics.  Of the children’s generations, my older sister is the most unique, compared to how my older brother loved Mayday, my younger brother being into BLACKPINK, she’d followed the national treasure Taiwanese traditional opera performer, Sun Tsuifeng.

Supporting the idols, going to the concerts, buying the merchandises, are a must, but our sister was on an entire, different, grade.  Since she was six, when she had a glimpse at Weiwuying, all the performances of the troupes, whenever Sun was performing, she’d, shown up to every one.  She’d, collected the stamps north to south of her attendance, to exchange them into the memorabilia, even during the pandemic, she’d not, faltered in her pursuit.  And I didn’t want to risk catching CoVid, and delayed my going with her, and she’d, gone to ask our maternal grandmother to accompany her.

Before the Chinese New Year’s this year, being really stingy like she’d normally was, she’d, spent the big bucks on the sponsored seats of Sun’s in Tainan, to support this originally free-of-charge performance, and took us on the stays of the major hotels, free of charge for all of us.  I’d asked where the zest came from?  She’d told me she’d wanted to support her idol for “never admit to losing”!  Of late the start of the show, Sun had been not well, which caused her to reduce the number of performances, which made this, a must-go event.

I am bowing down, to my older sister’s, fanaticism for this, National Treasure.

And so, this is how much of a fanatic you can be, of someone you loved, and, it’s okay, if you have this sort of an idol in your life, and, it’s okay, that you spend the big bucks on going to see their, performances too, just make sure, that you don’t become, totally, CRAZED, that you squander away all of your, savings.  There’s nothing wrong in supporting the arts.
