A manager from the Economics Development Department of the Hsinbei City suspected that five of her subordinates were passing around bad words about her, demanded that they turn over their cell phones, and signaled at how one of the employees’ job was because of her, giving it. The mayor of Hsinbei, Hou stated, that this behavior is improper, and he’d told that the department needed to evaluate its members’ behaviors, and transferred this office manager to a nonmanagerial position.
A member of the online community claimed that s/he was “nobody” who worked for the city government of Hsinbei City, that because of the manager’s suspicions of the workers gossiping about her being bad and awful, demanded all workers turn over their cell phones, and used the search functions to check her own name, and her own job title, but, the group was all about the works rants on the daily goings on from work, and for the sake of ordering the teas and drinks, there’s NO specific character attacks on anyone.
The city councilmen, Chang and Chang at the questioning of the city council stated, using one’s own status to demand the subordinates to turn over their cell phones, the city government’s officials should examine more closely how this matter wasn’t handled properly right away, and how the manager had broken the law on forced actions, demanded that everything gets cleared up in two weeks’ time by the city government.
And, based off of understanding, the worker, was displeased of how the manager handled things, told the personnel office of the department, but didn’t receive any help, the individual didn’t know how else to handle the matter, which was why s/he started, ranting on it online.
The head of the Economics Development Department, He stated, that as personnel received the complaints, they’d immediately set up a specialty task force to investigate, other than demanding the manager to give a written statement of what had happened, they’d also, interviewed the subordinate, at the same time, called an emergency evaluation committee, and the precise results will be publicized later.
The manager who was accused, when receiving the call from the press reporter, stated, that she was unaware of the matter, but the if the reports were untrue, slanderous, then, she will pursue a defamation suit against those who accused her.
The mayor, Hou stated, that the cooperation, the working togetherness to achieve a common goal, that, is what’s important for the team of government officials, and that everybody in the office, in the process of these evaluations, need to introspect oneself frequently, because only through these constant self-evaluations, the team can, progress forward.
And so, this, still just showed, how this manager abused her status of power, to check her subordinates’ cell phone, because she knew that she wasn’t just or had done something that upset her subordinates, and she’d, taken that preemptive strike, in calling wolf, and in this particular case, because she had, invaded into her subordinates’ privacy, she got demoted to a nonmanagerial position.
