Why Gun Control IS a MUST

Other than the F-A-C-T, that guns have a tendency, to go OFF on their own, from NBCNEWS.com, by L. Carroll…

School shootings unnerve Americans, but the number of children injured or killed in those tragic events is just a fraction of the young people harmed by firearms each year in the U.S., a new study shows.

Injuries from firearms send over 7,000 kids to the hospital annually, an average of twenty per day.  Among those admitted, sixty percent die in the hospital…

And this one, is still, for ALL of y’all, GUN fanatics, IF you want to, or already OWNED a gun, DO make sure, that you keep it, locked away (preferably in a COMBINATION safe!!!), and out of reach of children, because if they died of a GUNSHOT wound to the HEAD, then, blood will BE on your hands, parents!!!

Another School Shooting

From as early as Columbine H.S. back in 1999 (and yeah, I looked THAT up too!!!), to the recent year’s Sandy Hook Elementary, along with that ten-year-old who’s SHOT by her little nine-year-old third grade classmate, because his mama couldn’t keep her GUNS locked up safe and sound, now, there are still MORE on the way…

Another school shooting, so, your point is?  THROW out the Second Amendment (are you SURE you want to do that, b/c you’ll surely ANGER a TON of gun lovers, your members of NRA’s and what not), or, should we have a STRICTER background check on gun ownership?  But, sometimes, those who owned the guns aren’t the one shooting someone, it’s how easily those GUNS are accessible.

And so, what, did we learn, from yet, ANOTHER school shooting?  Absolutely NOTHING, because it hasn’t happened in OUR neighborhoods yet, and even IF it’d happened in OUR neighborhoods, it still wasn’t anybody we know, we loved, or cared about (like your relatives???) who’d gotten SHOT dead, so, we don’t care.  And the world is still, slowly, DROPPING below FREEZING temperature, and, you DO know, how placing that BAN on the Second Amendment Rights is still NOT the answer, right???

A Child, Fatally Shot His Dad, No Charges Were Filed

Did anybody NOT “follow” that keep dangerous ARMS out of reach of children???  And so, this, is yet, another tragedy, and no, it still will NOT be the last of it, trust me on that, from the Houston Chronicles, Chron.com…

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities aren’t expected to seek charges in the death of an Arizona man who was accidentally shot by his 4-year-old son.

Justin Stanfield Thomas was fatally shot Friday after he and his son traveled from Phoenix to a friend’s home 90 miles away in the northern Arizona community of Prescott Valley for a surprise visit.

Prescott Valley Police Brandon Bonney says the boy found the loaded gun in the home within minutes of arrival, asked a question about it and pulled the trigger.

Thomas later died at a hospital.

Bonney says the gun should have been locked away, but that Thomas’ friend, whose identity hasn’t been released, was caught off guard by the unannounced visit.

No children lived in the house.

The child is now with his mother.

So, in this case, the FOUR-YEAR-old child got a hold of the gun, and WHAM, it fired off, and shot HIS daddy, and, of COURSE that NO “charges” are filed here, after all, we can all conclude, that this is just ONE of the many tragic accidents that’s happened in a household with a G-U-N, where the GUN was safe OR secure, LOCKED UP as it was supposed to be, and you still don’t THINK that we need gun control???

A Five-Year-Old Brought a LOADED GUN to School

Is it for your show-and-tell, kid???  And you GUN fanatics are still standing FIRMLY behind your SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS?  What IF this happened at your child’s kindergarten class, huh?  Consider THAT, from NBCNEWS.com, written by E. Chucks…just like your normal M~F school day, isn’t it???

A Memphis, Tenn., kindergarten student is in police custody after he fired a handgun in his elementary school cafeteria Thursday morning.

The incident didn’t result in any injuries, and school is back in normal operation, school officials said.

The Westside Elementary School student, 5, brought the gun to school in his backpack Thursday morning, according to school officials at Westside and at the Shelby County schools superintendent’s office.

While waiting for the opening bell in the cafeteria, the gun accidentally discharged once inside the boy’s backpack at about 7:42 a.m. CT during breakfast and before school started at 8 a.m., school officials said.

“Staff immediately took possession of that backpack,” said Christian Ross, external communication analyst for Shelby County schools. “Our Shelby County school security team were contacted as well as local law enforcement. They’re handling the investigation. From what we’ve heard, there’s no evidence of harmful intent.”  It’s unclear where the boy, who was not identified, got the gun.  He will be disciplined “in accordance with the state’s zero tolerance policy” for weapons, according to a statement from school officials.

The school, located in north Memphis, serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade. WMCTV.com in Memphis reported some shaken-up parents were picking up their children from school.

No other details were released. Memphis police confirmed Thursday afternoon that the student was still detained and that the gun was a handgun, but didn’t give any other details about the weapon.

The incident comes just days after an Atlanta-area school shooting in which a man carrying nearly 500 rounds of ammunition opened fire in an elementary school’s front office before surrendering peacefully to police.

And this time, thankfully, NOBODY was injured, but, the next time???  I’m pretty sure that it won’t BE as lucky as it was this time round, and you parents out there are still keeping your GUNS within reaching distance of your children???  Are you P-S-Y-C-H-O???  And IF this kindergarten age child CAN get a hold of a G-U-N (it’s that easy, for a kid that young to get HIS hands inside that “cookie jar” there!!!), how easily do you think your crawling babies CAN get their hands on something SO dangerous?  Easier than this kindergarten kid can, and that still just shows you that IF you OWN a gun, for whatever purposes there may be, DO keep it locked up, in a password protected SAFE, otherwise, anybody (including those young one, running ‘round LOOSE inside the houses) can get her/his hands on it, and then, WHAM!!!  Something VERY bad happens, do you want that???  Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Killed, Because Some College Kids Got Bored

You had BETTER have a BETTER reason than “oh, I’m just too B-O-R-E-D” for MURDERING someone in COLD BLOOD here, from the news pages online…

An Australian man attending an Oklahoma college on a baseball scholarship was shot and killed in what police described Monday as a random act of violence by three ”bored” teenagers who decided to kill someone for the fun of it.

Christopher Lane, 22, of Melbourne, was found dead Friday while visiting the town of Duncan, where his girlfriend lives. Three boys, ages 15, 16, and 17, are in custody and face a court appearance Tuesday afternoon.

Duncan Police Chief Danny Ford said Monday a woman called 911 after she saw Lane stagger across the road and fall to the ground in the south-central Oklahoma town of about 24,000 residents. Ford said Lane, who was staying with his girlfriend and her family in Duncan, had jogged past a home where the three boys were staying. He said the shooting appeared to be completely random.

Autopsy results are pending. Ford wouldn’t say how many times Lane was shot.

Ford said the 17-year-old has given a detailed confession to police, but that investigators have not been able to locate the murder weapon.

”They saw Christopher go by, and one of them said: `There’s our target,”’ Ford said. ”The boy who has talked to us said: `We were bored and didn’t have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.’

”They followed him in the car to that area, shot him in the back and drove off,” Ford said.

He said the district attorney is expected to file first-degree murder charges Tuesday, and all three will be arraigned at Stephens County District Court. It wasn’t known if the three will be charged as adults or as juveniles.

Sarah Harper, Lane’s girlfriend, told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. that the two had only returned to the United States from Australia last week.

”He didn’t deserve any of this,” Harper told the network. ”It’s heartbreaking that it was such a random choice those guys made that drastically altered so many lives in the process.”

Lane attended East Central University in Ada, about 85 miles west of Duncan. He started 14 games at catcher last year and was entering his senior year.

”He was an absolute joy to coach,” baseball coach Dino Rosato said in a statement issued by the school. ”Chris was an extremely well-respected teammate. … He set a great example for all of his teammates, but more importantly for the younger players. He was a mature student-athlete who his teammates could look to for advice and support.

Ford told Oklahoma City television station KOCO that one of the teenagers said they shot Lane for ”the fun of it.”

The chief told the Duncan Banner that police detained the three boys near a car and had retrieved a dismantled shotgun from the vehicle, but that Lane had been shot with another gun that had not yet been found. He said police have had ”problems” with two of the three juveniles previously. He did not elaborate.

”It is heartless and to try to understand it is a short way to insanity,” he said.

And so, nobody knows the PRECISE reason W-H-Y this Australian man had gotten S-H-O-T, and, “for the FUN of it” is still NOT a good enough R-E-A-S-O-N, to SHOOT someone, and now, those boys, hopefully, will get TRIED as adults, after all, they WERE heartless, in shooting the man, with whom, they had NO prior contact with, until the day that he WAS S-H-O-T…

And you still DON’T think that GUN control IS a M-U-S-T?  Oh wait, it’s NOT gun control we’re in desperate need of, it’s PEOPLE C-O-N-T-R-O-L!!!

Accidentally Shot, and You Still Stand Firm Behind Those Second Amendment Rights?

Those of you who are SUPPORTERS of the Second Amendment ALONG with members of the NRA or whatever OTHER gun fanatic groups, listen UP, from NBCNEWS.com…

The New Jersey father of a 4-year-old boy who accidentally shot and killed his 6-year-old neighbor has been arrested, accused of having multiple unsecured weapons accessible to children, the Atlantic County prosecutor’s office announced Monday.

Anthony Senatore, 33, has been charged with six counts of child endangerment and a disorderly person’s offense for enabling access by minors to a loaded firearm.

Senatore’s son and 6-year-old Brandon Holt were playing in their neighborhood April 8 when The New Jersey father of a 4-year-old boy who accidentally shot and killed his 6-year-old neighbor has been arrested, accused of having multiple unsecured weapons accessible to children, the Atlantic County prosecutor’s office announced Monday.

Senatore’s son and 6-year-old Brandon Holt were playing in their neighborhood April 8 when the 4-year-old got a loaded .22-caliber rifle from his family’s home and shot Brandon in the head, authorities said. The boys were about 15 yards apart.

Brandon died at a hospital a day later.

Brandon’s grandmother told NBC 4 New York at the time she was angry the family failed to take enough caution in locking up their guns.

“I can’t believe that they found 11 guns in that house,” said Donna Elefante. “I mean, with three kids? Give me a break.”

Attorney information for Senatore was not immediately available, and a phone number was not listed in the public pages.

The Atlantic County prosecutor’s office took over investigation of the case early on because the Senatores have relatives who worked in law enforcement in Ocean County, where Toms River is located.

One resident said the two families had not lived in the neighborhood for long and she did not know them well.

“I’m sad for the children involved and their families, but I’m angry with whoever owns that gun and allowed a little child to get hold of it,” Debi Coto, who lives a few doors down, said after the shooting.

The shooting came just days after a 4-year-old boy in Tennessee grabbed a loaded gun at a family cookout and accidentally shot to death the wife of a sheriff’s deputy and amid debate over gun control laws in the wake of December’s Newtown, Conn., elementary school massacre, in which 20 first-graders

Moral of the story???  If you’re a GUN FANATIC, or a SECOND-AMENDMENT RIGHT fanatic, DO keep your GUNS out of child’s reach, because you KNOW how they got the tendency to GET not just their ONE of TWO hands STUCK inside that “cookie jar”, they may SHOVE their child-sized HEADS in there too!!!  And, you should NEVER keep weapons in the reach of children, OR alcohol either, because you KNOW those kids?  They WILL be kids, touch, and, BAM, something accidentally goes O-F-F, and, you, the parents would be made to take the RESPONSIBILITIES for them…
