The Combination of Her Breaking Up with Her Boyfriend, Along with the Troubles Taking Care of Her Handicapped Daughter, Caused the Mother to Take the Child to Suicide

The COMBINATION of E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G difficult in her life made her C-R-A-C-K!!!  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

A single mother, Lin in Sanchung District of Hsinbei City, two nights ago, took along her five-year-old young daughter who was diagnosed with AADC, burned coal, and they both died.  The police, from the primary investigations believed, that because Lin was under pressure from the debts she’d owned, plus she was on the verge of breaking up with her cohabiting boyfriend, that, was why she’d committed suicide.

Lin, the boyfriend stated, that his family was against them being together, he’d brought up the subject of breaking up, but she didn’t want to, they started fighting.  Last week, the girlfriend attempted suicide by burning coal, he’d found her just in time.

The police found, that Lin, four years ago, took along her daughter who had a rare condition, moved from Taichung to Sanchung, not long thereafter, she’d moved in with her boyfriend from work.  Lin and her daughter are considered low income, and so they got money from the government, to help cover their living expenses and their rents.

Two night ago at six thirty, the foreign hired help from Indonesia discovered that there was coal in the residence, at seven that evening, Lin, the boyfriend, came by, took all his stuff; half an hour later, the woman called up her friend, Yang, to tell her about her planning suicide, then, she’d given the foreign help $10,000N.T. told her to go and shop around at the night markets nearby, and to NOT take the house keys along.

Because Yang was tied up, she couldn’t go and see Lin, she’d asked a friend, Yuan, to check up on her.  Yuan said, that he’d knocked the doors, but nobody answered, and couldn’t manage to open the door, even WITH a locksmith, and he’d heard loud noises coming from the inside, he left.  But, as he’d walked away, he felt uneasy, at a little past ten at night, he’d returned to Lin’s place, at which time, the foreign hired help couldn’t open up the doors, and they’d called up the police immediately.

When the police and fire department rushed to the scene, and they’d found Lin and her daughter dead.  The neighbors said, that when Lin first moved in, she’d told them that she’d given birth to a handicapped daughter, and that her in-laws didn’t want her, and her ex only wanted to take care of the healthy firstborn son.  Lin worked in a karaoke and drank, and every few days, she’d asked her friends, along with male customers home, to play Mahjong, that it was very annoying to the neighbors.  The neighbors said, that she’d kept two dogs, and would have the pet shops pick them up for their bath and grooming regularly too; starting two and a half years ago, she’d hired a foreign caretaker to look after her ill daughter for a little over $20,000N.T. per month.

The social workers’ department head of the Hsinbei Social Services Department, Shih pointed out, that Lin didn’t have any assets, and qualified as a low income household.

And so, there was the resources, but, the woman didn’t ask for it, and, she’d just broken up with her boyfriend too, and, the combination of being poor, breaking up, and needing to look after her own handicapped daughter, along with ALL the other things that were going on, had caused her to commit suicide, with her daughter, and, it’s still NOBODY’s fault, it just IS!!!

The Stresses from the Examinations Caused a Gifted and Talented Student to Leap Off of a Building

Maybe, it’s the season, who knows???  From the Front Page Sections, translated…

The last year gifted and talented middle school student, after school last night, leapt from his twelfth story home, and killed himself; the police investigations found, that his parents are both school instructors where he’d gone, one in math, one in English, and the police suspected, that because he’d gotten too stressed out by the national middle school examinations that’s happening in May, that he’d just cracked, and killed himself.

His parents, after getting the news, hurried to the hospital, and they were heartbroken, as they were told the news of his death.  The principal from the school, after hearing the news, was shocked, that Lee had been doing quite well in school, maintained the top six scorers of his class, and scored high on both mathematics and English, had gotten fifth place in the city-wide violin competitions, is multi-talented, and would perform in front of the whole school a lot, and had entered into English Speech competitions, and gotten put up for the junior diplomat too.

The family members disclosed to the police, that recently, the son had told his school instructor, that he’d wanted to “work hard, to take the national exams”, supposing, that he was talking about the national middle school students’ examinations that is going to happen for the first time, since the implementation of the 12-year education program, “the stresses from his studies” might be the cause of his suicide.  But, the school principal, Tseng said, that there are NO major examinations scheduled any time soon, she didn’t believe that “scholastic pressures” was the cause of the student’s suicide.

So, from the surface, we still have a PERFECTIONIST, someone who’s done WELL in his studies, and what, might cause this young man to suicide, we may NEVER know for sure, as the only person with the answer to that question is already D-E-A-D, so, all of this, is still in H-I-N-D-S-I-G-H-T, and, could this have been prevented?  Maybe, so, why did it still happen?
