A Case that Kept Coming Back to Haunt You

There’s that case that kept coming back to haunt you, you know, the one you failed in, maybe, it was your first year as you started working, who knows???
A case that kept coming back to haunt you, how?  You’d left that the moment the detective slapped that “Case Closed” tag on the files, didn’t you?  So, how come you’re still so haunted by it now?

A case that kept coming back to haunt you, because maybe, you’d invested too much emotion into the case?  Or that because it was very close to you, something that hit a chord on the inside?  A case that kept coming back to haunt you, because maybe, you hadn’t done quite enough, or maybe, you still believed, that if you’d done things differently, then, the outcome would be different too?

A case that kept coming back to haunt you, a case of a nameless Baby John Doe, found, in that worn down shack, with his mama, Jane Doe, and, there were NO visible external injuries, and, how they’d died, and who had murdered them, is still a mystery to date, and yet, the case is already C-O-L-D!!!
